History of My Audio Design - MAD
My Audio Design (MAD) is the brainchild of Tim A Jung. Tim is renowned as the ‘’MAD conductor; a man who designs loudspeakers in what might best be described as a Group-Analytic way. He had 18 years’ experience designing Loudspeakers before founding MAD in 2005.
Prior to the establishment of MAD, he enjoyed an amazingly diverse background; he was once a hotel manager in the world's greatest hotel 'The Ritz London’, but then retrained himself as a psychologist, managed two community health projects in London, and served on a few health advisory panels to charities and the UK government. He spent 10 years reading different psychologies.
Then, some years back, he had a serious car accident, which caused him to take stock of his life. Suddenly he realized that it would be better to pursue a career based on his passion for 'Music & Art'. Naturally, his extensive knowledge of High Fidelity, plus his creative sensitivity and ability to think outside the box, has helped ensure MAD products stand out from the crowd.
He says; ‘Our designs are the results of work carried out by a team of top scientists, musicians, engineers - and a MAD conductor! We tend to do things differently and look for novel innovative solutions. While this approach is not always easy, the results we have achieved are often astonishingly good.
Our 1920 and My Clapton Grand MM loudspeakers have received five globes (top rating) from Hi-Fi World, with the latter earning a place on their World Standard list.(A honor list of best audio gears available in the UK). Our Royal Salute and Julian Lloyd Webber loudspeakers are regarded by many as British design icons, excelling in both aesthetics and acoustic performance.’
Since the inception of the brand, MAD has received numerous accolades from top British Hi Fi critics writing in the notoriously demanding UK press. We have also received excellent feedback from some of the world’s top musicians such as star cellist ‘Julian Lloyd Webber’; Julian Coward (flautist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra); the free-improvisation guitarist and founder of Mopomoso ‘John Russell’; recording engineer ‘Craig Williams’, and many others.
